Music: Bulletproof - La Roux
Last Saturday was another significant day in my life for me. Somehow, as you go through life, you kinda have ideas of what momentous moments would be like. Like, the day you graduate, your first job, your wedding day, first kid. You get the picture.
Last Saturday, February the 27th 2010 was one of those days for me. Not on such a big scale to some, but significant enough for me because of it's visibly symbolic permanence. However, it was kinda disappointing because it didn't exactly turned out the way I had wanted it to. But what is done, is done and I guess I'll have to live with the circumstances.
Garrick picked me up and gave me a ride to Midvalley that Saturday afternoon. I was so anxious and having lots of second thoughts about it but it was kinda too late to have second thoughts at that time. In another car, Kok Seng, Adrian, Karyn and Raymond followed along as well. I'm so grateful for all my friends, really :) Hands down, people I will miss the most when I'm all alone on winter night with no food and no company in some foreign land :(
Arrived and headed up to the place.
Venue.
Inked inked inked :D
I was nervous as hell.
Met up with the artist and I told him what I wanted. He seemed rather cold and I got so intimidated by his coolness, I lost my own cool! But I kept telling myself that I have to be firm and tell him exactly what I had wanted instead of just complying with every suggestion because it's something irreversible.
He told me to come back after 15 minutes once he was done with the sketches and instead of going anywhere, we'd just lingered around, looking at the pictures of other artworks. I was really anxious, hoping it would turn out alright.
When the time came, I was told to go in but the sad part was I couldn't bring anyone in there with me! I had wanted really badly to bring all of them in for moral support but I guess it was due to hygiene reasons that no one could come in :\ So I was left alone in the room with the artist while he set everything up and I'd just sat there awkwardly, not knowing how to react.
I was also stupid enough to leave all my belongings with Garrick, resulting in me not being able to take any pictures during the process. SIGH. It's alright I guess because I know there's going to be a next time. Soon :D
Anyway, here are the pictures from the day. The end product was very satisfactory. I'm happy with what I got. It was simple and it was even better than what I'd picture it to be.
The design.
Pentagram, or more commonly known as a star :)
Right hand.
Left hand.
They look kinda glossy because it was freshly taken and he had put some ointment on the raw wound.
Happy with my paired stars.
We had more time to kill later on so we adjourned to the Garden's Starbucks for some R&R session. Used my discount and got all of us drinks while we played cards the entire afternoon. It was relaxing.
Soy Caramel Macchiato.
It is goood.
Have no idea why this picture turned out reddish.
Adrian focusing hard to win to much avail.

Thanks for tagging along that day. Really wished you guys could've came in and witness the process with me. Would've probably freaked most of you out though! hahaha.
Minus Drian.
Awww ;p
We left back to Subang by 7 for dinner.
One last shot.
To answer all the questions that are probably forming in your head now, no, it did not hurt that much. For the outline of the star, you'd feel the same pain if you were to take any normal blade and carve it onto your skin. I guess that's the closest resemblance I have. As for the shaded areas, the pain is just like falling down and scraping your knee onto rough cement. So no, it's not that bad. Not like unbearable labor pains or anything.
So that's that. One more item I can cross off my list :)
When I look at the stars,
I see someone else.
When I look at the stars,
I feel like myself.
