This has by far been the longest since I last blogged. I am deeply apologetic. This daily blog has slowly been reduced a weekly one and now a bi-monthly one? I'm sorry haha. But I will try to work harder on updating this.
So I have been back home, greeted exclusively by the intense humidity that makes you sweat even after a shower and the familiar views of the streets I've grown up in. Oh even better is the fact that right hand driving seems more right than left. I've been home for the past 2 weeks (explains my lack of personal time to myself; too busy catching up with everyone I've left behind) and I have been passing the weeks away surrounded by the people I love, both with family and friends.
It's been spiraling out of control really. So much sleep, food and fun that I am certain I will be punished for this much hedonism in my life. As of now, I am one week shy of boarding another airplane back to the United States and I have not packed a single thing into my suitcase. Hold that thought-- I don't think I've even purchased a new suit case.
Regardless, I've been traveling so much this year. Back and forth across the world, it's been a tiring journey and not just in reference to the physical journeys I've taken, but also the journeys I have to make in the future. Adjusting myself to new lifestyles and people. Sometimes I come home to my room and wonder if this is home or is this just another vacation. Soon, home for me will be a shared apartment and a single bed with clippings of pictures of all the people from "home" hanging from my wall. Home will be cold winter mornings with the heater cranked up high and rushing helplessly to classes.
It's a weird transitional period in my life. I'm filled with mixed feelings right now. So excited but at the same time so heavy hearted.
Anyway, documentation of the things I have done the past 2 weeks I've been home. Week 1 was a trip up North of the Peninsular with the boys. We were in Kedah for Kok Seng's badminton tourny and then made a stop in Penang to savor the immense flavors the state has to offer to all who visits-- if they know where to go.
Hello!
Jambatan Pulau Pinang!
My favorite food from Penang, Asam Laksa.
Sex in a bowl, I tell you.
The 3 boys I was with the entire week.
Left to right: Adrian, Raymond & Kok Seng.
It's been such a long time since I traveled North. My family usually makes trip down South because we have family down in Malacca. Singapore also seems to be a favored destination since almost everyone in Malaysia has someone they know in Singapore.
It was a fun trip nonetheless. You might think it awkward me being the only girl but these guys are basically like chicks to me. Yep, that's how well and long I've known them for hahaha.
Highlight from week 2 was the time spent in the park with Karyn, Adrian and Sha ♥
We function the best fighting.
My lovessss.
Smiles all round, yes please :)
Which then evolved to full-blown laughters.
Priceless.
I don't remember what I was staring at.
Just...chilling.
I credit Karyn for all the pictures captured. Those were good times definitely.
Now, I am down to week 3 and I have to start getting things sorted out. I am quite afraid to be honest. Mostly because I have taken and am taking a lot of things in my life for granted. I have never lived alone for more than 3 months and this time round, I'll be away for much longer. It's all just hitting me right now. Being entirely independent and starting over from scratch.
That's what I've been asking for right? So why do I feel so hesitant now? Like getting cold feet moments before walking down the aisle.
Hopefully it will all come to pass.
