Music: Stop Crying Your Heart Out - Oasis
This is ridiculous. No, this is beyond ridiculous. It is absolutely absurd! Irrational.
Let me fill you in on why am I so bewildered by the entire situation. So, I have been spending almost the whole of my entire day scouting around for resources and answers. I actually wanted to fill in a couple of forms and decide on something solid before leaving next week, so I headed over to the ADP building this afternoon just to get some questions answered.
I followed Jojo and Gordan because coincidentally, they were heading there to hang out as well. Plus, I haven't seen Jo in such a long time so I thought why not? He's leaving to NS soon as well but he'll just be an hour and a half away from us. Haha that lucky boyy. Anyways, back to point.
I entered the main office to find no one at the counter. I waited a couple of minutes and no one came out. I stood around, skimming the rack of forms, brochures awkwardly, praying someone would notice my existence and actually attend to my needs.
10 minutes passsed and no, no one came out. The students that were studying there started to throw weird glances at me. I pretended to be engrossed in the academic timetable for the year 2008. Finally, another girl came in and she needed to see someone as well! She stood around and after being sick of waiting, she let out an exasperated sigh. I sighed as well and we became friends for that 2 minutes or so.
I braved myself and stepped into one of the offices that was located inside. Aha I see a counselor! She was busy clicking away with her mouse and so I knocked. She turned towards me and gave me a very unpleasant and bothered look. I ignored it. I had to have my questions answered! So I stepped in and asked her. I was hoping she would ask me to have a seat or something, but she didn't. Instead, she answered all my questions very briefly and with the least interest as possible. It was so uncomfortable. The worst thing is, I didn't even get half the answers I needed. Way to go, Taylors. Pfft
Met up with the boys and went to the bank to bank in Gordan's cheque after that. We were so lost, we didn't know what to do. All I know is that you have to fill in some form and dump the cheque into a machine. We spotted the machine and all 3 of us read the instructions very slowly, as if we were trying to comprehend every single letter. Of course, Gordan made some mistakes and was forced to seek assistance from the guard there. But we got it done in the end! And now, I know how to bank in a cheque.
Went to AC again. It's my second consecutive day there. Clanton came shortly after us and he is just funny. In a good odd way. At one point, he ordered Nasi Lemak and it came with an egg (duh!) It was one of those eggs with a really runny middle, so I asked him, "Can I poke your egg?" Jojo started laughing while Clanton was kinda confused with my request. I realised later how wrong it sounded if you were to put it in the wrong context. But seriously, I like stabbing runny yolks :)
Had another pool session once againnn. Played with Lisa and obviously got beaten but not trashed. Still got standard okay! But doing it every day will have a detrimental effect on my purse. Ate with Lisa after that because the guys wanted to CC. Same old boys they are. I had Pad Thai for dinner which was gooood albeit a little too spicy. Thai food is the bomb yo!
I came home and continued my research on American colleges and universities. Now I actually have quite a few options I am able to choose from. The only bad thing is that some potentially good colleges do not offer the course or major I am looking for. Instead, they have things like Africana Studies and Gay & Lesbian Studies! (Seriously no offence whatsoever to homosexuals or Africans out there) But isn't it sort of weird that they have majors like this and not have something more relevant and common like journalism?!
I can't even find the write words to express my feeling of confusion and inconceivableness. I shall write to the Dean of that college! Just so you know, this is what I was referring to at the beginning of the post. It's funny how I made such a huge detour and only getting to the crux of it now. Aha long winded and hardly ever straightforward Adelina. :)
Tomorrow will be another busy day as I begin to finalize my applications. I have to take passport pictures too! I hate them. Something about having to look straight and pushing your hair behind your ears make the entire picture seem so horrid. But I will post them up. Yes, so I can be the laughing stock of the entire online bloghopping community.
