Music: -

It's two days before my supposedly big party on Saturday. Two days and right now, I feel really crummy. I've got a bad headache and I'm freezing even though the fan is on the lowest speed.

Not a good sign.

Post-birthday sickness. Ha. Ironically, I've not even done any partying yet and here I am feeling rather ill. I wonder what will happen to me after the real party.

Anyway, my 18th birthday just rolled by. To be honest, I thought everything went by really quickly. It seemed almost like just another Wednesday to me. But this year, for the first time in 3 years, I spent my birthday away from my bestfriends.

There was no talk of dumping me with water and eggs. No exaggerated plans to hold me down against the floor and dump the crap on me regardless. Things have definitely changed although some of our old traditions still remained. And for that, I'm glad :)

At approximately 12.10 I got a call from Jing. I honestly thought she was the only one who remembered my birthday because the rest didn't even make an attempt to wish me. I was told to check my mailbox for something. So I got all excited thinking that she left me a birthday present. The outcome was better than I'd expected.

There at 12 in the morning stood my four bestfriends holding a slice of cake with a candle on it. The only response I could give was "What the hell are you guys doing here?" I know it's not the best way to say thank you to the four of my friends who came all the way to wish me but I'm sure they understand.

Thank you girls. You were a great start to my awesome birthday this year.

College yesterday was filled with various sorts of emotions. I was excited, tensed, worried and even kinda moody. I had yet another graded speech to fulfill but thankfully, that went better than my last one. Though, I'm pretty sure my lecturer could my wobbling knees when I'm up there speaking. But after 4 and a half minutes, the torture was done. I couldn't help but let out a huge shriek of relief. I'm sure I turned off a couple of my classmates who were in the hall.

Cheryl and I decided to head on over to Yuan Wei's car to grab the cans of beer he bought. These were not just any regular Carlsbergs or Tigers. They were called Bear Beer. See, even the name sounds intimidating enough. Apparently, they were really good bear and pretty pricey too. We rolled over to the nearby park and proceeded to finish it there despite the light drizzle.

We spent a good one hour there, talking about the nonsense in our lives. It must have been the twinge of alcohol running in me but I did the stupidest thing ever. I changed in the park in broad daylight. Just because I didn't wanna dirty my formal shirt. How stupid.

But that was the highlight of my day. Rainy afternoons and beer accompanied by silly people.

Dinner was the usual affair with the family. I'd put pictures up if I wasn't feeling so damn lazy. Maybe tomorrow if I'm to it. I guess the most special thing this year is that I've had about 4 cakes so far. As in actual birthday cakes. And I'll be having one more this weekend. I'll be so sick of cakes after this.

All in all, being legal does feel pretty fun. But I'm sure the rush will wear off soon enough and then everyday that comes after that is just another reminder of how my teenage years are ending.
